DC Anti-Tobacco Youth Coalition Testifies at Education Discussion
Wednesday, October 21, 2015 – The Teens Who Don’t (TWD) a DC anti-tobacco youth coalition testified at the Education Roundtable on issues facing District of Columbia youth in front of the Council of the District of Columbia. The roundtable was hosted by David Grosso (At-Large), Chair, Committee on Education. TWD members Dominic Sims, Dynell Snowden and Darrius Cook, provided the actual testimony at the hearing. The youth’s testimony included work aimed at preventing youth initiation, as it relates to peer-to-peer education, e-cigarette petition campaign highlights, the harmful effects of e-cigarettes and increased promotion of the-1-800-QUIT-NOW Quitline.
