Rolando Andrewn of Breathe DC, Flint Webb of the Air and Waste Management Association-Baltimore Washington Chapter, and Elizabeth Spike, North American Association for Environmental Education ee360 Community Fellow and Fairfax County Public Schools Teacher received a Voya Financial award to honor their collaboration to deliver Our Air, Your Future: Creating Clean Air Advocates to students across the metropolitan Washington DC area.
The Voya award recognizes innovative teaching methods, creative educational projects,and the ability to positively influence children. The Voya grant is part of a school-year long action project to transform student awareness of air quality into action to protect clean air. The award includes a $2000.00 grant to provide teachers with air sensors to monitor campus ozone and particulates.
